The people have spoken!

Last week, I asked what direction you wanted this newsletter to head in and the vote was almost unanimous…

You voted for weekly marketing tip breakdowns.

So that’s where we’re starting today!

Here's a welcome gift to celebrate: 101 eCommerce Tactics

Now let's get this show on the road.

TODAY’S MARKETING BREAKDOWN:

Steal this upsell marketing tactic from beam: Offer a discount on multiple future orders 👇

WHY IT WORKS:

This marketing tactic works for both the customer and the business.

The customer gets:

âś… A discount

âś… Pays shipping once (or free)

âś… Doesn't have to reorder for months

Your business gets:

âś… Higher LTV

âś… Improved retention

Verdict: Win-Win.

ONE SIZE FITS ALL?

Some of you might be asking: “But this looks like it works for subscriptions only…”

This offer can be repackaged in a different way for non-subscription businesses.

The solution is bundling.

It’s everywhere.

For example, Skinny & Co’s is offering ~$10 off this 3-pack bundle.

  • 3 single products = ($29.99 x 3) = $89.97

  • Discounted 3-pack bundle = $79.99

  • Bundle Savings = $9.98

They can position these savings in a few ways:

  • “Save over $3 on each jar”

  • “Save $10 when you stock up”

  • “Save over 10% when you bundle and save.”

They have a lot of flexibility with how they want to test out this messaging.

BOTTOM LINE:

If you’re selling a product that needs to be repurchased on a frequent basis, it makes a ton of sense to offer bulk discounts - subscription or non-subscription.

It’s a great way to upsell existing customers.

And any new customer that comes in on a bulk discount is more likely to be a loyal one because of the larger purchase.
