Today's Marketing Breakdown:

First off, a special shoutout to Sandeep M. who is the inspiration for today's issue!

Sandeep wrote in a few issues ago asking for some content on SaaS so that's where we're headed today.

Does that mean anybody who writes in asking for specific content will get shoutouts and dedicated newsletter issues? Only one way to find out...

Today's focus is Affiliate Marketing.

I've been seeing some really smart marketing campaigns popup lately for the SaaS tools I use on a monthly basis.

One Affiliate Partner program that stands out is TweetHunter

They offer you a 30% commission on ALL payments for new customers that use your referral link.

That means on a $49/month subscription, they're willing to pay YOU $14.7/month for that particular customer.

And they let you create multiple referral links so you can test out different placements and know which links convert the best (below are my TweetHunter affiliate partner stats).

And the best part of TweetHunter's affiliate program? If you get 5 conversions for them, they give you TweetHunter free for life.

So let's do a quick recap of this brilliant marketing tactic:

  1. Existing customers get paid for spreading the word.

  2. The company gives you all the tools you need to promote your affiliate link.

  3. The company gets more customers.

  4. Those new customers hear about the affiliate program from their friend.

  5. They start referring their friends.

It's a Win-Win-Win for everyone involved. The rare Michael Scott trifecta.

TweetHunter's affiliate program was one of the most generous deals out there... until earlier this week.

beehiiv (the company that is allowing you to read this newsletter right now) launched their affiliate program with a 50% revenue cut for 12 months.

And they make it incredibly easy to get started:

This is a smart move by a company that is primed for growth. Their current newsletter creators rave about the service already (that's why I'm here!) and beehiiv is just throwing fuel on the fire.

Bottom Line:

Your best marketers are your current customers.

Let me repeat that for the folks in the back.

Your best marketers are your current customers.

Offering a generous affiliate deal gives your most loyal fans one more reason to love and support your brand.

If you're looking to start your own affiliate program, I highly recommend checking out Rewardful (that's the service TweetHunter and beehiiv use).
